Breaking News

December 7th 2007 - our world is turned upside down. Simon has been offered work with an Aussie golfer Aaron Baddeley (I say 'golfer' because some people I have spoken to dont know who he is). Aaron plays on the US tour which ultimately means the Webbs are relocating!!

Its funny how it all came about because the job found Simon rather than the other way around. Aaron and his previous Physical Preparation Coach (fitness trainer for short) went separate ways Aug 07 and so Aaron was looking for someone to help him at The Masters. He had asked around & apparently Simon's name was mentioned. Simon & Aaron knew each other from years ago at the Victorian Institute of Sport. Next thing you know Simon worked with him at The Masters and then The Open and then they talked and "Wallah" - we're going to America.

Of course, everyone has a go at Simon and the things the family has to put up with but reality is he puts his family first and this was a joint decision. We've toyed with the prospect of o.s relocation for some time and always said we'd give it a go if the circumstances were right. And they are right, the kids are young, Simon's got work with an established player, we're moving to an English speaking country (sort of), we've got some travelling opportunities (the kids want Disney Land, we're seeing the Bahamas) and so on

Making the decision to go was one thing, digesting it, telling our loved ones and packing up our Aussie house & life was another. In the whirlwind that was Christmas and New Year we packed up our house (4 months after moving in!), got passports for kids (for those of you that have had to get them, you can sympathise with me. Try getting a 20 month old to sit still, look straight at the camera without tilting their head, show their ears, and not smile or show their teeth) sold a car (thanks Dad), rented our house, said good bye to Simon for 5 weeks, moved in with my folks (sorry Mum & Dad), sold/ebayed/garage saled our possessions, tied up loose ends, organised working visas and said our good byes.

We had our farewell 'CrackerJack' style at the North Fitzroy Bowling Club. It was a steaming day but a good one, the kids were a highlight stealing balls from the bowling green and stuffing up people's games (funny at first but I dont know if these strangers appreciated the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time round!) For those of you who made it - thank you and sorry it was hot & rushed. For those of you that couldnt, please keep up the emails. I had good inentions of taking a million photos but never quite got there but luckily got a few from mum which I've posted here. Will keep you updated with the move

Love to you all, Cara
