Liam turns 4

May the 5th marked a big milestone for Liam - four years old!
The day was celebrated with early morning presents, fun at Chuck-e-Cheese arcade with our Aussie friends Sam & Jeb, followed by lunch at a restaurant and then pirate pinata cake with our friends the Mailands and Wrens. Liam took great delight in smashing the chocolate shell and all the kids took more delight in devouring it! Not loong till the big party celebration when Dad, Nana & Poppa will back from their travels to help celebrate!

Brenham Day Trip

Here's the hot tip - don't go on a day trip to a little country town called Brenham on a Sunday. Near on everything is closed! BlueBell Icecreamery is closed, Brenham Museum is closed, Miniature Horse farm is closed! We did go to their little airstrip for a 50's diner lunch which was pretty cool. Even saw some light aircraft take off and land which the kids got a kick out of. The lavender farm was open but we kind of had the expectation of the Daylsford Lavender Farm and as it turns out our expectations were way too high!! Despite all this we had a good day, found ourselves a hot rod fair on the way home so Dad had a squizz whilst the kids went on the jumping castles!

Yes No Maybe . . .

This is Liam and Poppa removing his training wheels. Liam was all a buzz after his friends Jack and Christopher starting riding without theirs.
This is Poppa putting the training wheels back on as our beautiful Liam, high spirited, loud, gung-ho and full of false bravado, was a bit scared free wheelin it! We'll put that one in the too hard basket, or in other words, we'll leave it to Simon!

A little slice of heaven

Last month after Mum & Dad had been here for a week when they literally, gave Simon and I a little slice of heaven. They looked after the kids while we flew to Charlotte, North Carolina for 3 nights. I don't recall having been away with Simon overnight since before Liam was born so it's not surprising to say I felt a little weird for the first few hours. It's also not surprising to say that I shook that feeling off rather quickly and enjoyed our time imensely from thereon in!! One of the best things, and there were many - like wine bars, slow dinners, movies, strolling the golf course, was rediscovering what it was like to hold Simon's hand - 6 years of bags, food, toys or little hands has pushed Simon's to the backburner! Anyway this was the pleasant view from our room and the only we picture we remembered to take but a wonderful trip never to be forgotten in our minds. THANK YOU Mum & Dad - it was amazing!
