My dear friend Louise spent a week with us during her big O.S holiday. While I couldn't offer her the beaches she'd seen at Cayman Islands or the flashy shoes (OMG) of New York, I could offer her the individual attention of a 5 and 3 year old, incessant noise, squeals & questions from 6am to 7pm, lasagne for dinner (3 times), arts and crafts and stacks on Lousie!
All jokes aside it was absolutely magical to have her here. We spent a number of lazy days at the pool, we dined and shopped alone (thank god for babysitters), we went downtown to the kids museum & aquarium and saw the local sights around home.
After a tear and a hug I sent Lou on her way to Seattle and have started packing our bags as we are off to see Simon in Washington D.C tomorrow. We are all very excited and can't wait to catch up. I'm going to try my darndest, as golf courses are not typically located in the city, to get a photo in front of the White House! You can't go to D.C and not. Well I might but we'll see. Anyway . . . we will be there for the 4th of July celebrations and have promised the kids they can stay up for their 1st fireworks. Stay tuned. xx

From little things big things grow
Thank you Meegs and co for the science experiment, it provided an afternoon of fun and excitement for the kids as they watched the tree grow. Liam has a million new questions each day - where do they make trees? where do they make cars? how do you get a baby? Do they come out a hole? How do they make rain? how do they make grass? and so on and so forth

Tea 4 Two
Ashley celebrated her 5th Bithday with a Tea Party
Ashley & her friends decorated hats, created extravagant floral arrangements, participated in sugar cube stacking competetions, teacup pinatas and more. Over the course of the party they gathered bits n pieces that, in the end, produced some beautiful ladies and a charming gentleman.
She had a lovely time. Thank you to everyone for her lovely gifts (spoiled rotten) and birthday wishes - I can't believe she's five. When did that happen?

Daddy's Home
With school out I am always on the lookout for ways to entertain the kids. Nothing better than good old sheets and boxes in the lounge room to make your own cubby house. We also got a welcomed visit from Simon as his player, no names shall be mentioned, did appallingly and missed the cut. We had a jammed packed 36 hours but loved every minute of it. From backyard fun to lunch at Sweet Tomatoes to the local pools we had a great time just being the Webbs.

Flippin out
The kids started gymnastics at Flips this week and loved it. Photos are limited as its a 'no parent' zone and we watch from glassed in rooms above. The kids do warm up, floor work, balance beam and trampoline. Classes are once a week which we're really bummed about, our aim was to push them hard and make the next olympics!

I'm a little teapot
Ash decided she wanted a pinata for her party which wasn't really on my agenda or budget but . . . since we had all the equipment at home balloon, paper, glue (online recipe from good ole flour n water) we turned it into an afternoon activity. Or rather, the kids had a great time squelching their fingers in the glue and putting the first layer on and Mum enjoyed completing the project while the kids watched tv!! Go figure. Anyway we all had fun and maybe, if it works, we'll even get a pinata out of it!! Time will only tell

Squeals of delight
We are still lucky that the real humidity of summer has stayed at bay. However the weather is hot and the kids are loving getting wet. We bought these water squirters from the dollar shop and for the amount of fun they've had I think I would've paid a lot more.
Simon is currently in Ohio (round on the ends and hi in the middle!). He's meant to be home at the end of the month but it looks like his guys are gonna change things on us again. He will fly back for 24 hours so as not to miss Ashley's 5 yo Tea Party - there'd be 2 broken hearts if he wasn't here for that.
I just added up the other day that Simon will physically be home in our Texan house for a total of 6 weeks from Jan to the end of Sept - how disgusting is that? We both hate it but we must be thankful that it pushes us to travel and see the states. Something I never imagined I'd be doing. Simon is so over hotels and eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner for weeks on end. When he comes home he wants nothing but home cooked meals!
Toodle loo xx
